About Dr. Madhavi Jeste

Biography:

Dr. Madhavi Jeste is one of the leading Ophthamic Surgeons from Mumbai, specialising in Cataract (Phacoemulsification), Lasik and Glaucoma. She is a Contact Lens specialist and an expert in Eye treatment who has been in prastice for more than 25 years.

She pursued MBBS in 1985 from Seth G S Medical College, DOMS from College of Physicians & Surgeons in 1987, and MS from KEM Hospital in Mumbai in 1989. Dr. Jeste holds a very impressive academic record right from her schooling. She ranked first in the entire state of ... Maharashtra in SSC examination held in 1978. She was then awarded with 20 prizes and 3 scholarships by SSC Board. She was awarded with National Scholarship by Minister of Education and Culture, Government of India and was honoured with many other prizes by various organisations. She secured first class with distinction, 18th rank in merit list and 100% marks in Physics in HSC Board. She won number of prizes during the academic year and also National Talent Scholarship by NCERT. This scholarship was awarded in 1980 and was continued till completion of post graduate studies. During her Medical Graduation, She stood first in her college and was awarded with Chaturbhuj Gordhandas Sunderdas Scholarship and Kesarbai Kerkar prize. She was also honoured with an award for over all excellent performance. During her Final MBBS, she secured distinction in the subject of Ophthalmology & ENT and Preventive & Social medicine. She was then awarded with Dr. W K Mazzumdar award.

Dr. Jeste is currently associated with Maru Hospital, S L Raheja Hospital and Ashtavinayak Nursing Home as Honorary Ophthalmologist based in Mumbai. She can also be consulted at her private clinic 'Smita' located at Dadar on weekdays.

Previously she served as Registrar in KEM Hospital, Lecturer in BYL Nair Hospital & TN Medical College and as Clinical Assistant in KB Bhabha Municipal Hospital.

She is associated with various medical associations where she actively participates and attends many national conferences organised throughout the year.
